Festival on the Hills
Festival on the Hills is a fantastic music festival that takes place towards the end of May at Honiton Showground in the South West. Festival on the Hills has two stages in which some big names like Marvin Humes, Roman Kemp and Reef played throughout the festival in 2024. As well as good music acts, this festival has a number of food and drink stalls giving you unlimited options across the weekend. The doors open on Thursday and the music is spread across the Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
Event Sparks first took on Festival on the Hills last minute in 2024. This meant we had to work quickly, with only a couple of days to plan for the event. This was no problem for us though as with some hard work and excellent execution, we provided seamless power for this festival, with little stress. We loved every moment of this event and look forward to any future events we take on with them.
What We Provided:
For Festival on the Hills, we provided seamless power for the main stage, caterers, traders, bar, camping and event control centre. We also provided them with cabling, distro, LED lights, fuel and more. Here is a breakdown of how we tackled this job on such short notice.
Main Stage: For the main stage, we provided 2x 100kva silenced generators synced together. The main stage also had a 125A distribution box, cabling to suit and a 950L fuel bowser.
Caterers: To power the caterers, we used a 160kva generator with a 125A distro box, 63A distro box and over 1100m of cable.
Traders: For the traders, we used a simple setup of one of our 30kva generators along with a 63A distro box and 300m of cable.
Bar: When it came to powering the bar, we used a 60kva generator with a 125A distro box. We also used a variety of 10m and 30m 16A extension cables as well as some 25m 32A cables. Finally, we topped off with some 16A – 4x 13A adaptors and some 16A two-way splitters along with some of our LED battern lights.
Events Control: For the event’s control, we used a 30kva with distro, cabling as well as seven of our LED battern lights to keep the tent illuminated.
Camping Field: For the campers, we supplied another 30kva generator with a 63A distribution box, cabling and another LED battern light.
This was a large job, especially to take on at the last minute, however, the year’s experience from our incredible team led to perfect execution and a very happy customer. Our engineers loved every minute of this challenge and I’m sure enjoyed the food stalls and music during their time at the festival…
